The Franklin Street Inn COVID Update – Looks Like it’s over?

Moving Forward!

Our hope is that everyone has weathered the pandemic as best possible and is ready to get this behind us.  At this time, the mask mandate has ended in our area, but we respect anyone who chooses to continue to mask for their personal safety.  Keith & Lori continue to maintain our excellent hygiene practices and follow the policies and practices recommended by the state and local Health departments.  Our priorities that were further strengthened the past two years include taking time to reflect and pray, and checking on our family and friends.

We are intentionally posting this on March 14, the anniversary of the COVID shutdown. Like most of the hospitality industry, the Franklin Street Inn Bed and Breakfast was GREATLY affected by the Corona virus (COVID-19). Travel bans, closures and event cancellations all impacted our business from March 14, 2020 - July 2021.  Lori and I continued to clean and maintain the Inn, worked on finance options,  and worked on projects to improve the business and guest experience.   Thanks in part to several return guests,  and many new ones, the Inn finished strong in 2021 and is off to a good start in 2022.  Several of our returning guests shared with us that they felt good staying here because they knew they would receive a warm welcome, a safe stay, and a great breakfast!  We continue to hold that as promise to all guests.

Breakfast

On the breakfast front:

  • fresh mushroom and cheese quiche Keith & Lori strive to serve a full, homemade, nutritious breakfast each morning for our guests.
  • During COVID we had time to work on a few new recipes while improving some of our guest favorites.
  • The Inn always serves breakfast at arranged times with each guest.
  • Our dining room tables are 6 feet apart, and breakfast times can be staggered as needed.  This was true since we began running the Inn in the Fall of 2016
  • Your full breakfast can be delivered to your room door for guests staying in our suites and requesting this service.
Cancellations

If you are concerned about making a reservation at this time:

  • We have always handled cancellations of DIRECT BOOKINGS on a case-by-case basis.
  • Bookings through Online Travel Agencies (OTAs) such as Expedia, Booking.com, Hotels.com, Priceline, and their many partners will be handled through their cancellation policies.
  • Special attention will be paid to guest needs and to industry practices.
  • If you need more specific information, we are always willing to discuss this before you book.
Additional Information

Innkeepers Lori & Keith

For those of you still interested in safe stay practices, Keith and Lori are the primary employees at the Inn.  We managed to stay COVID-free and healthy, and we have received all vaccinations.  Recently we enlisted the aide of an occasional housekeeper who is also fully vaccinated.  Our promise is to continue to follow safe practices for all personal and business transactions.

We Look Forward to Hosting YOU!

We are back to near normal which, at full capacity for us, is still only 8-12 guests in our 2 suites and 2 rooms.  If you are traveling to Appleton we would love to host you. Many Appleton and Fox City events returned last summer in a limited capacity, and many are currently in the works for full operation this year.  This includes the Cheers to You Series, the Craft Beer Walk(s), Art-in-the-Park, Mile of Music, and Oktoberfest.  Contingencies are  planned for the ever-changing health status in the area, check online for event updates.

Make a reservation soon, or purchase a gift certificate for a future stay.  Doing so will help us continue to maintain and improve our beautiful Victorian Home.  The Franklin Street Inn wishes to not only host guests this year, but also well into the future. For the best rates you can #Book Direct or purchase a gift certificate by calling us or clicking here.  Our online availability calendar is posted for 2022.  If you have any questions or additional concerns, please call us at 920-209-9711. In the meantime, best wishes for a healthy and prosperous 2022!
