Congratulations Lawrence University Graduates

Congratulations Lawrence University Graduates

We are both happy and sad about the recent graduation at Lawrence University a few weekends ago. Graduation 2018 festivities began on Friday, June 8 with a Commencement Concert in Memorial Chapel. Festivities extended through Commencement Exercises held on the Main Hall Green under the tent from 10:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, June 10.

Lawrence University, founded in 1847, is a community of 1,500 intellectually curious students.  Lawrence is an undergraduate institution that is a deliberately small residential university. Students can be educated in the areas of the liberal arts, sciences and their nationally recognized conservatory of music program.

Our city is definitely given cultural appeal by the many events being held here. Lawrence University is proudly profiled in “Colleges That Change Lives”. The Conservatory of Music ranks among the best in America among small language arts universities. Go to Wriston Art Center to view their art holdings comprising more than 3,000 objects in a variety of media.

We are happy for the students' graduation accomplishments and glad we were able to be a part of some of their experiences at Lawrence.  Although we are relatively new owners and stewards of The Franklin Street Inn Bed and Breakfast, the Inn has been offering lodging and breakfast to the Lawrence University community since 1994. After meeting numerous families and students, we have experienced first hand that the students are friendly and have multiple talents and interests.  So we will miss this group of students and their families,

However,  we look forward to the students returning as alumni so we can host them once again.  Alumni weekend was held at Lawrence University the weekend after graduation with programs and activities on Friday and Saturday, June 15th and 16th.  Several alumni stayed with us that weekend celebrating their 45th, 50th, and 55th anniversaries since graduation.  It was a delightful weekend learning about and from the alumni guests.

We look forward to  serving the lodging needs of our friends and families associated with Lawrence in the future and to continue this association for many years to come.
