Christmas Comes to the Franklin Street Inn Bed and Breakfast

We've decked the halls, the tree is trimmed, the first snow has fallen, and the Inn is ready for the Christmas season.  The warmth and cozy feeling of the Inn brings a sense of relaxation and comfort as we settle in for our 3rd winter here in Appleton, WI.

We have made our plans to spend time with family for the holiday, but we have plenty of days and rooms open to host and visit with friends old and new.

Recapping Our Past Year

As we celebrate the season, we also recall the many blessings we have had throughout the year.  Despite a slow start to 2018, we had enough reservations and events scheduled in January through April to pay the bills and make ends meet.  The early

April blizzard kept some folks away, but as spring returned, so did the guests.

We are grateful for the many Appleton events and attractions that kept folks coming to Appleton, and will continue to keep people coming to the Fox Cities in the future!.  We were blessed to host people from all over the world who entrusted their stay to us.  This year we hosted guests from Spain, Netherlands, Germany, Canada, France, China, and Sweden as well as from 25 or more states. What a blessing to share our Inn, food and hospitality with people from so many different places.  Our breakfast discussions always remind us that people have so much more in common than the few differing opinions they hold.  We look forward to opening our home and hearts to many more in 2019!

We are thankful for the support we get from the returning and prospective parents and students who are associated with Lawrence University and who choose to stay with us.  We are blessed to have met so many wonderful and talented young people. We know the future is in good hands as today's students develop their talents and become tomorrow's leaders. Finally, we are thankful for the new partnerships we have formed, the relationships we have strengthened, and the opportunities we have had this year.  We are blessed to live and work in a community that supports small local businesses.

While you’re at it…why not make it an evening-out event. Dine at one of the many wonderful downtown restaurants, take in a play, then spend the night at Franklin Street Inn Bed and Breakfast. All within walking distance of the PAC.

Looking to the Future

It is noted that most new small businesses do not make it past the first two or three years. A quarter of the way into year three, we are are on a firm financial footing and looking toward a solid future.  Keith recently attended the Wisconsin Bed and Breakfast Association Conference and learned more techniques and tips for serving our guests and running the Inn. Look for a new look to our website in early 2019!

Although we are early in our third year of business, In 2019, The Franklin Street Inn Bed and Breakfast will be celebrating 25 Years of hosting guests.  Watch for special events and deals throughout the year commemorating this milestone!

A Final Note

As 2018 draws to a close, we wish to thank all our guests, business partners, vendors, friends and family for all their support since we became the latest stewards of the Inn; we would not have made it without all of you.  We wish you all a wonderful holiday season as well as a happy and blessed new year!
