Appleton is “One Great Place” in March and April!

There’s a whole lot to do in Appleton all year long. The City of Appleton continues to work hard to offer an array of experiences for both its residents and its visitors!  As we bounce back from the COVID situation, it looks like we’re off to a good start in 2022.  After several successful plays, concerts, athletic events, and shows in January and February, here are some of the events topping the list for the next two months!

The Fox Valley Symphony Orchestra

The orchestra takes center stage for their Spring Concert at Thrivent Hall of the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center.  The program, on Saturday, March 12th at 7:30 pm under the direction of Dr. Kevin F.E. Sütterlin, includes:

Louise Farrenc (1804-1875): Overture No. 1, op.23, E Minor
Jessie Montgomery (b. 1981): Soul Force
Samuel Coleridge-Taylor (1875-1912): Ballade in A Minor, op.33

Appleton’s Community Public Market

The Community Public Market debuted in February and returns to the Fox Cities Exhibition Center on Saturday, March 19 from 9 am – 2 pm.  One great place for a community gathering!   Explore vendors and offerings in Farm Market Square, Artisan Alley, Wellness Walkway, Tasty Trail, Retail Road, and Play & Learn Lane.  Walk the Community Public Market during the winter months and feel transported to the familiar outdoor Farm Market atmosphere where community neighbors come together to offer a taste of the Fox Cities.

Garden Conference 2022

On Saturday, March 26, the Outagamie County Master Gardeners Association invites you to Join them in welcoming spring and learning more about gardening.  The one day conference will take place at from 8:30 am – 3:30 pm at The Grand Meridian • 2621 N. Oneida St • Appleton, WI

RAIN – A Tribute To The Beatles - Tuesday, March 29

In addition to all your early Beatles favorites, RAIN will bring the greatest hits of the epic recording of Abbey Road to life. This mind-blowing performance takes you back in time with the legendary foursome delivering a note-for-note theatrical event that is “the next best thing to seeing the Beatles” (Associated Press). Comedy takes the StageFriday, April 1

Jon ReepAt 8:00 pm at the Kimberly-Clark Theater get ready to laugh! Jon Reep is often recognized as the winner of “Last Comic Standing”, and from his appearances in “Late Friday”, “Pit Stop Comedy, and “Rodney”. He has also been seen in Dodge’s popular ad campaign as the “Hemi Guy”. Hear him live in the intimate Kimberly-Clark Theater at the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center as you laugh and ask “That thing gotta Hemi?”

Mini Golf On The Town In Downtown Appleton!

Planning is underway for this mini-golf event to take place on Saturday, April 9. The last event featured 27 “Mini Golf on the Town” locations. Each participating bar provides a golf hole in their establishment. Each bar generally builds a theme and special offer around their hole. The participating bars will be registering teams.  Each team will play 9 holes on one of three courses and there will be a 19th hole party starting at 6 pm.
